Hiring models gets expensive and getting family and friends to pose for you while you want experimental strobe portraits are a hassle for them. Now I know I’m not the most photogenic person on earth, but I guess I have to work with what I have so I don’t choke up during a real photo shoot. One of the key things I’ve learned in order to improve photographic skills is to use a hands on approach. I can’t just sit and read diagrams or user guides on how to do certain things. Off camera flash is one of the harder to grasp photographic skills that when learned is am extremely useful skill to have for portraits or even for cars.

So anyway it’s always difficult to shoot yourself without know how to place yourself in front of the camera, took me several hours just to get a good couple of shots down and finally pose right. These self-portraits were accomplished with two flashes. Always fun to play dress up….
